A Sailor’s Christmas

Happy Holidays to All!

Today I’m trying something new; writing a blog post from my phone. I figured it will help me in the future as I travel so much and on the ship I don’t really use the internet on my laptop. So, in case this post looks funny, now you know why.

The other day I posted a poll in one of my insta stories and the result surprised me! It made me wonder if it’s just me but honestly now, home is the best place in the world to spend the holidays and I cannot imagine how spending holidays working onboard could be better? Am I missing something here? Maybe my story question was not clear enough hmm

Home is home. It might be cold, you might need to cook and clean after yourself but home is where the family is and friends and people who smile from the heart and not because it becomes a job habit (same as greeting unknown people passing you at the mall, you know what I mean).

I am very grateful to have spent two Christmases in a row at home. Last year it was in Romania and this year was in Greece, my second home. We got to decorate the house, cook, buy presents, watch tv and realax for a few days in pjs or meet with family and friends. I know that I might not be so lucky in the years to come so I made the best out of it and it was PERFECT!

Again, this might be just my own personal preference but nothing compares with holidays at home! Sure, home is where the heart is so if I could take all my loved ones on a cruise where I don’t have to work on Christmas days, I will be more than happy to spend it there too! Who wouldn’t?

So what do you guys think? What do you think is the best thing about spending your holidays onboard working? What about the best thing being a home? For me would be the fact that I can stay in in pjs as much as I want and eat good food right where I am. Let me know what’s yours.

I’d totally prefer to be on a ship! I don’t have to cook or clean, and I don’t have to sit home alone so I’d 100% prefer to be on a ship, someplace with beautiful water, friendly crew and sunshine!
